在《魔法门之英雄无敌Ⅳ》发布半年后，资料篇《急速风暴》就出现于市面上。发行商3DO和制作商NWC都是靠英雄无敌系列发的家，相信大家早已耳熟能详，不多介绍了。该资料篇相对原作的改动很小，保持回合制策略性的同时加入了邪恶女巫等强力生物；故事线亦比较简单，五位英雄各自寻找特定的宝物，最后联合起来对付公敌Hexis。由于英雄能升至35-40级左右的超高境界，因此到后期英雄能力的强弱比招募的生物重要得多，战术策略亦发生相应变化。
